My strengths in my writing skill for this term would have to be my creativity and organization. Writing essays where I can just write whatever was in my mind were my strength. For example, my trip to Cuba essay was easy for me to write just because I didn’t have to do any research on it and it was something that I have already done, therefore I was able to really get into details with it. My organization puts my essays in place, I personally like using chronological order it makes the essay easier to follow well in my eyes it does. I believe that my strengths have helped me write the essays that we’ve written in class.
My weakness without a doubt would have to be my grammar. I’m sure as we speak my grammar is not looking as great as it should. I’m not ashamed of my weakness it just makes me work harder, and therefore in the end I will be better at it. Practice makes perfect, I know so cliché but it is fact practice does make perfect, and thanks to Prof. Bonaparte my grammar has improved since I’ve been here. The practices for which she has given us with comma splices and run on sentences really helped me out in writing my last few essays. Although I do need more practice, the little bit I did get can help me move on further with my essay writing. Of course I can later on continue to practice until I can say to myself, I can do this.
All in all, my strengths and weaknesses make my essay unique and at times a bit filled with errors. But that is fine by me it just ensures me that I need to work harder on that particular subject and push myself to the limit to achieve the goal of writing a well written essay.
